I empower growth-minded leaders through 20+ years of human-centered HR expertise, coaching, and practical guidance.

Hi. I'm Aviva

An Xennial who remembers life before the internet and helped build the systems that run it now. I was born and raised in Chicago by a carpenter dad and a finance-manager-slash-accountant mom—back when you didn’t need a degree to do complex math or build something that lasts.  I’m the first in my family to go to college, and I didn’t stop there. I earned my bachelor’s at Bradley University, got a master’s in Counseling Psychology from NYU (because why not throw therapy into the mix?), and later picked up a bunch of certifications including coaching certification from Columbia University, because apparently, I like learning almost as much as I like helping people.

I spent 20 years in New York City, learning, evolving and embracing the hustle, before finding my way to South Florida, where I now call home. My career has had a similar path: rooted in helping others grow, solve problems and redicsover their own sense of possibility. Service has always been at the heart of my work. Whether I’m coaching a founder through a tough decision or guiding a team through change, I lead with empathy, curiosity, and a belief that every interaction—at work or in life—is a chance to show up with care.

Aviva Lazar Fractional HR business coach

I’ve built a career (and a life) around making workplaces more human, more intentional, and way less soul-sucking. This “human first” lens shapes everything I do; how I lead, how I coach, and how I show up in the world. It’s about creating space for growth, clarity, and connection, even when things feel messy, uncertain, or just plain stuck.

With 25+ years in the corporate world, growing teams, shaping cultures, and crafting people strategies that actually work, I’ve helped leaders lead better, workplaces function better, and humans thrive within complex, ever-evolving organizational environments. From hyper-growth startups to global nonprofits to the consumer brands you know and love, I’ve seen it all. I’ve served as Head of People, built global HR functions from scratch, coached founders and C-suite execs through conflict, reinvention, and everything in between, and partnered with mission-driven organizations on real transformation, not just shiny new org charts. My work lives at the intersection of operational excellence and deep human change.

I’m also a mom to one incredible kid (who teaches me daily what real leadership looks like), an animal rescuer, a decent cook and artist, a travel enthusiast, Transendental Meditation meditator, pilates junkie and a firm believer that the best conversations happen when you approach others with true care.

When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative, no-nonsense approach tailored to your specific context. Whether you’re building an entire HR function from the ground up, navigating change, tackling complex decisions, or refining leadership skills, I bring a blend of insight, empathy, and candor. Together, we’ll uncover new possibilities, break through old patterns, and create strategies that actually work.

If you’re ready to move beyond surface-level solutions and dive into building a stronger, more effective organization from the inside out, then I’m all in.

Let’s make it happen.
