kie DeShannon had it right, back in her 1965 hit song.

In a recent interview, I used the word "love" to describe what I think we need more of in the workplace. The interviewer was visibly surprised and honestly, I get it. Its not a word we typically hear in a professional interview or corporate settings. But maybe it should be.

Too often, we strip the "human" out of Human Resources and the heart out of leadership. But the truth is, the most successful companies are the ones where employees feel deeply valued, appreciated, and yes—loved.

Love at work doesn’t mean anything grand or over the top. It’s about:

⭐ Making people feel seen, heard, and respected.

⭐ Creating a culture where feedback is a gift, not a threat.

⭐ Recognizing and valuing the whole human, not just the job title.

⭐ Showing appreciation—not just in big wins, but in everyday moments.

Engaged employees don’t just work for a company; they work with it, contributing to its success. And when they feel love and appreciation, they show up with commitment, creativity, and energy. That’s when real transformation happens—for people and for business.

So as leaders, HR professionals, and teammates, let’s ask ourselves:

How are we making our people feel today?

Because success isn’t just about strategy and execution. It’s about people. And people thrive when they feel valued.

Let’s bring more love into the workplace. It belongs here. ❤️
